FIS brings Digital One Commercial to APAC

The move comes as financial institutions across APAC increase investment in digital infrastructure to meet growing demand from businesses for real-time payments, integrated treasury services and seamless cross-border banking. According to research from Celent, corporate banking IT spending in the region grew by 5.5% in 2025 and is expected to accelerate by 6.2% during 2026, driven by investment in corporate digital platforms and client lifecycle management.

One Platform for Every Business Customer

Unlike many legacy commercial banking environments, where separate platforms serve SMEs, mid-market firms and large corporates, Digital One Commercial enables banks to support every business segment through a single, composable platform.

Its core-agnostic architecture allows institutions to integrate with existing banking systems rather than replacing them, reducing the complexity and cost associated with large-scale transformation programmes. The platform also supports real-time, multi-rail payments, connecting with regional payment schemes including PayNow, FAST, GIRO, SWIFT and ISO 20022 messaging standards.

FIS has also designed the platform to reflect the diversity of APAC markets, offering native support for multiple languages, currencies and time zones while accommodating differing regulatory and cloud deployment requirements across the region.

Supporting the Digital Transformation of Commercial Banking

Another key feature is direct integration with enterprise resource planning (ERP) and accounting platforms, allowing businesses to initiate payments, manage liquidity and access banking services directly from their financial management systems rather than switching between multiple applications.

According to FIS, one major APAC bank is already using Digital One Commercial across 15 countries, serving approximately 350,000 business customers and more than one million end users from a single platform instance.

Peter Boyer, Co-President of Banking Solutions at FIS, said many banks continue to operate fragmented commercial banking systems built for individual markets rather than regional growth. By consolidating these services onto a single platform, institutions can simplify operations, accelerate product launches and better support businesses operating across multiple jurisdictions.

As commercial banking becomes increasingly digital and interconnected, platforms that combine flexibility, API-driven integration and real-time payment capabilities are expected to play an increasingly important role in helping banks modernise while avoiding the disruption associated with replacing core banking infrastructure.
