FIS Pushes Agentic AI Into the CFO’s Office

The Agentic Insights Suite is designed to address a familiar problem for CFOs: critical financial data is often spread across disconnected ERP, treasury, CRM and credit systems, while many existing tools explain cash movements only after they have happened.

FIS is positioning the new platform as a more forward-looking alternative, bringing internal and external data together to identify risk, forecast liquidity and recommend actions before problems reach the balance sheet.

From Reporting Cash to Predicting It

A key part of the platform is a new cash-flow forecasting module that uses machine learning and multiple simulation outcomes rather than relying on a single estimate.

Finance teams can project cash across configurable time horizons and test how changes such as delayed customer payments or accelerated outflows could affect liquidity.

The suite also provides real-time account scoring and recommended next steps, intended to help collections, credit and treasury teams prioritise higher-risk exposures.

FIS says the system combines company data with external credit bureau and public information, creating one reconciled source for analysis rather than forcing teams to manually resolve conflicting figures.

Agentic AI Moves Beyond Single-Task Automation

The broader significance is the way FIS is applying agentic AI.

Rather than automating one narrow process, the Agentic Insights Suite is intended to operate as a central hub that gathers information, runs analysis and recommends action across several finance functions.

Users can query the system in natural language, while results can be presented through standardised Power BI dashboards.

FIS says the platform can connect into its existing receivables products, including GETPAID and BillerIQ, as well as treasury systems such as Integrity and Quantum.

CFOs Face Pressure to Act Earlier

The timing reflects growing interest in AI across finance functions.

FIS cites Deloitte research showing 46% of finance leaders identify working-capital optimisation as a leading use case for agentic AI, while only 14% have fully integrated AI agents into their finance operations.

That gap is where vendors are increasingly competing.

FIS has already applied AI to financial crime, including work with Anthropic on an AML investigation agent designed to cut investigation times.

Now the focus is shifting towards corporate finance.

For CFOs, the emerging value of agentic AI lies less in producing another dashboard and more in turning fragmented financial data into earlier, actionable decisions about cash, risk and liquidity.
