Beyond by RS2, the innovation arm of RS2 Financial Services, has been appointed a Principal Issuing Member of Visa in Europe — a development that significantly broadens its role in the continent’s payments ecosystem.

The designation grants the company the ability to issue Visa-branded cards directly and to design, launch and manage card programmes without relying on intermediary institutions.

The move positions Beyond by RS2 as a fully integrated payments partner, combining issuing, acquiring and processing services within a regulated environment.

This end-to-end proposition is increasingly attractive to banks, fintechs, corporates and merchants seeking to deploy flexible payment solutions while avoiding the cost and complexity of building their own licensing and compliance frameworks.

Expanded issuing capabilities

With its new status, Beyond by RS2 can offer BIN sponsorship to businesses entering the card space, enabling them to introduce branded or co-branded card programmes without needing a licence of their own.

Potential partners range from retailers to sports clubs — organisations keen to strengthen customer engagement through tailored card products.

Its issuing portfolio covers debit, credit, prepaid and corporate cards, available in both physical form and as digital credentials compatible with Apple Pay and Google Pay.

Beyond by RS2 also provides full programme management, including customer support, fraud prevention, compliance and operational oversight, helping firms scale quickly across the EU and EEA.

CEO Jens Mahlke described the accreditation as a milestone in the company’s growth strategy, adding that it would enable clients to bring new products to market faster and with greater regulatory assurance.
